Albert Einstein said, Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Obama is the fourth consecutive US President that has ordered the bombing of Iraq, and last night the first bomb strikes were ordered on Syria, purportedly against IS forces. But the problem is that when you throw massive bombs from the air, you will inevitably end up striking innocent civilians: https://youtube/watch?v=zkuA3INULmw#t=01m10s CIA Analyst Michael Scheuer was of those who said that Al-Qaedas terrorist actions were blowback for decades of American foreign policy in the Middle East. Many other analysts have pointed out that IS and other extremist groups are the direct result of further Western invasions, bombings, and destabilization in that region. The irony is that IS is so evil that even al-Qaeda has criticized it for being too brutal - hence, foreign policy since 9/11 has actually created WORSE groups than those that caused 9/11. There appears to be a vicious chain reaction - the harsher and more brutal American policy, the harsher and more brutal the reaction from local groups. One feeds off the other. And neither side learns. What I truly dread, if these last decades have led to groups like IS, is that the current invasions will lead to groups that even IS will view as being too radical! And in the meantime, innocent people all over the world, especially the civilians of the Middle East who have to face the brutality and terrorism of air strikes, even as they face the brutality and terrorism from local groups, will continue to suffer the most. By the way, people: do not forget that five Arab/Muslim countries were also involved in these latest attacks: Bahrain, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Sallim, Allahumma Sallim! (Peace, O Allah, peace!). -Yasir Qadhi
