Albert J Lepine was nominated and accepted the position as National Commander and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the American Cold War Veterans. Al retired from the Army in 1991, after 24 years of loyal service. Al was a past Commander of the local Disabled American Veterans chapter, he was the Adjutant and Treasure of the VFW and a member of the American Legion and Franco American organizations. He served in Korea, three tours in Germany and several tours at post located in the United States. His last assignment was as active component with Company C, 133rd Engineer Battalion in Lewiston Maine. The Mission of the American Cold War Veterans, americancoldwarvets.org/, is to bring respect, recognition and awareness to Veterans of the Cold War era no matter what branch of service, whether active duty, reserve or National Guard. We are committed to honoring the sacrifices made by millions of American men and women during the Cold War, especially those who paid the ultimate price of life or liberty. We intend to see that the Cold Wars history is completely and accurately understood by people everywhere. We are united in these goals and speak with one voice.
