Aldeia Maracanã - History The building of the old Indian Museum located on Avenida Radial West near the Stadium Journalist Mario Filho (Maracana Stadium) has approximately 147 years of history that are at risk of being thrown down. Not only important historical monument of the city of Rio de Janeiro, but for Brazil as a whole, belonged to the Duke of Saxe who donated it to be turned into a research center for indigenous culture.
