Alex and I are doing 12 hour shifts staying with Taylor Scott. It is a blessing to be spending time with him and telling silly jokes, making up songs and goofing around, trying to figure out his iPad that he got for his birthday. We have to stay because the staff really doesnt get the fact that he cant get up and walk to the bathroom by himself or even ring the call bell for the nurse. They have 5-6 patients each. They are only giving meds, taking vitals and asking if he is in pain. They only come in every 2-3 hours or so. Im not complaining by any means. That is their job and they are other patients that need urgent medical care. This is not a rehab hospital with you know your patiently very well. Taylors pain level is around 6 mild pain. The left side of his face is swollen. His left eye is swollen shut from the surgery. He is really tired. There is still fluid draining so he has to stay one more night. Hopefully home mid morning. The good thing is he is wearing the greatest costume for Halloween. About 75-100 Staples in his head a swollen shut eye and a red filled drain with a tube coming out of his head. He thinks it would be funny to hand out candy to the kids tomorrow night. Im telling you he has a great sense of humor. Nobody likes a sore loser. Even more Nobody likes someone you cant laugh at himself. If you cant laugh at yourself, we suspect that maybe some of these conditions exist: you dont consider yourself funny. But everybody has a little sense of humor. You dont like people laughing at you. But what should they do? Because you arent laughing, they have to laugh at you rather than with you. You take yourself to seriously. Our advise is to lighten up and ENJOY LIFE. You should ask God to put a little laughter on your lips and humor in your heart. He will.... fill your mouth with laughter and your lips with shouts of joy. Job 8:21 Blessings Michele
