Alfred Allen Davis PENROD – Alfred Allen Davis, 90, died Sunday, Aug. 24, 2014 at his home. Born in Muhlenberg County Feb. 9, 1924, he was the son of the late Hershel and Burless Goodman Davis of Beech Creek. He was the owner of Davis Super Saver in Beech Creek for more than 40 years. He was a member of Beech Creek Pentecostal Church and a member of Masonic Hazel Creek Lodge No. 842 for more than 65 years. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ray and Paul Davis; two sisters, Louise Whitney and Roselee Robinson; an infant son, Jerry Davis; and an infant daughter, Melanie Davis. Survivors include a brother, James W. Davis of Greenville; his wife of 68 years, Jo Frances Hughes Davis of Penrod; a son, Allen (Patty) Davis of Madisonville; three daughters, Rebecca (David) Cobb and Katherine Kidder (David Hinton), both of Madisonville, and Sharon (Joe) Travis of Dot; eight grandchildren, Jeanetta (Jack) Borkowski and Steven (Charla) Perry, both of Covington, Patrick (Michelle) Cobb of Rockport, Reid (Theresa) Davis of Madisonville, Valerie (Chris) Back of Nortonville, Andy (Tanya) James of Clinton, N.C., Kyle (Erin) Davis of Grinnell, Iowa, and Addison (Sarah) James of Penrod; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Aug. 29 at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home with Bro. William L. Cook and Bro. Estil Mayes officiating. Burial will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery in Drakesboro. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Aug. 28 at the funeral home. Masonic rights will be held at 6 p.m. Aug. 28. Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to a charity of your choice.
