A release from an uncompleted contract may be granted contingent upon the availability of a well-qualified, certificated teacher as a replacement. A teacher who resigns contrary to this policy shall be deemed to have committed an unprofessional act and shall be subject to the penalty as provided under Arizona statutes and State Board of Education regulations. G-5911 GCQC-R RESIGNATION OF PROFESSIONAL STAFF MEMBERS Resignations for due cause shall be approved by the Board if a continuous educational program for students can be maintained. Resignations tendered after August 1 may be denied if acceptable replacements are not available. Due cause includes factors such as personal or family illness or health problems, spouses transfer to another community, or the staff members desire to enter a different vocation.
