Alistair youve stopped posting! I wasnt reading them online but it reminded me what chapter I was on! Think Im a day behind. 22 today? I think Ive found one of the strangest verses in the Bible with lots of ands in: Exodus 21v29 If however, the bull has had the habit of goring (!!!) and the owner has been warned but has not kept it penned up and it kills a man or woman, the bull must be stoned and the owner also must be out to death. I mean, in principle yeah, no one wants to meet a bull in the habit if goring ... But kill the owner? Well all the verses beginning with If a man... And do not... were seriously detailed and straight down the line in terms of right and wrong. I guess reading this makes you grateful that we dont have to live by rules because of fear of death. Vs 31 of ch 22 sums it up: you are to be my holy people. God still wants us to be his holy people, but not by following 613 laws, thanks to Jesus. :)
