All -_- Thanks to Facebook, all of my family and friends know my medical conditions as I have made it no secret and it’s nothing to be ashamed of…So here is an update… Last week I received an envelope containing 12 pages of forms to fill out as my disability insurance is about to switch from “short term” to “long term” Needless to say when you only have one good hand and it tends to tremble it was a bit overwhelming. All 3 different days that I looked at it. I finally sat down today and in 5 hours completed all 12 pages to include 2 of my own…as they asked me to describe my condition in my own terns…Not a problem I did that. By page 10 they asked me to summarize my life as it effects my medical…I did not include my military service as, I do not want them to come back and say “This Is a VA Problem” as it has nothing to do with my service… I do not want your “sympathy nor your sorrow” as I WAS born a man !!! What I need is your thoughts and prayers, over the next 2 or 3 weeks as I await with “anticipation” the decision… The following is my reply… To Whom It May Concern, I do not intend this as a sob story! My intention is that you understand my “caricature”. I began my working life at the age of 14, milking cows “by hand” on a farm. I followed that with 23 years as a “Lead Journeyman Carpenter”, building custom homes for other people. I followed that with 20 years of “Building Engineering” in HVAC. In 3 weeks I turn 58. I have always been the guy that did his own repairs, including on my own automobiles. In the last 3 weeks I have had to pay someone to repair my roof, someone else to repair my HVAC and yet another, to cut my grass. AND of all the homes I built, I live in a Trailer… To be limited between my couch my desk and my chair. Is not in my caricature and Is not the “Golden Years” I had in mind and was not my plan… Thanks
