All 50 and DC in 19 years! I started counting from 1972, the year I was drafted and bought my first car: a red 1973 Gremlin. It cost about $1,900 new, AM radio standard equipment. I was 20 years old and living in Kentucky with my then wife. I was at 48 states plus DC that I had driven into and out of by 1985, the year I bagged #49: Hawaii- I drove there in a Rent-a-Wreck for a week at $19.00 a day all over Oahu, camping on the beaches at night. In 1991 I moved to Alaska from upstate New York driving up the Alaska Highway with four kids in our 1983 Plymouth Voyageur van. Ive lived here ever since. Ive also driven into and out of Mexico and every Canadian Province and Territory except for NWT, Nunavut, PEI and Newfoundland and Labrador. They are on the bucket list (although you cant drive to anywhere in Nunavut- it would be like visiting Hawaii, only colder).
