All, A friend of mine has a daughter in need. Please read below. Share, forward, and if you can afford to help please do not hesitate to do so. This is a legitimate request for a young girl about to loose her eyesight. Hi Kandi and Ember, It was great seeing you again yesterday. As we talked about last night, we have found ourselves in a race against time to save our daughter, Jannas, vision and we are reaching out to everyone we know for help. Janna underwent major and serious surgery yesterday at a special clinic in South Florida. The pressure in both of her eyes is increasing drastically and her vision is diminishing rapidly. Her conditions are rare, atypical and an anomaly, and goes beyond glaucoma and her current doctors expertise. And apparently something related to her heart is partly the cause for the glaucoma. Three separate specialists were operating on her at the same time during the procedure. She will be back in there in two weeks for the same procedure on the second eye, and then almost on a weekly basis for further surgeries and follow up. Because our financial resources are limited at this time, we are reaching out to friends for help to cover both travel expenses to Miami and possibly other cities, as well as the cost for various procedures, Rxs and follow ups. This first procedure is covered by insurance, but come July 1st due to revised laws, her insurance will no longer cover any further procedures or follow ups. How much is needed, we are not certain at this point. From what we are calculating, we believe to start at the bare minimum we’ll need upwards of $17,000, which may just scratch the surface for what may be required for July and August alone. Throughout the course of the summer and fall, between travel and medical expenses we anticipate this number to increase quite a bit. If any of your friends are in a position to help Janna and have a desire to do so, the easiest way to contribute is through our ministry’s website smallvoicesunited. (While many may also want to contribute to our ministry work as well, it ensures that its not a donation to our ministry and that we will personally take the tax liability.)
