“All Authority – Disciples” • Mt 28:18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. • Mt 28:16 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. • Mt 28:17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. • The Wise and Foolish Builders • The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.” • Mt 7:28 When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed at his teaching, Mt 7:29 because he taught as one who had authority, and not as their teachers of the law • Mt 8:6 “Lord,” he said, “my servant lies at home paralyzed and in terrible suffering.” • Mt 8:7 Jesus said to him, “I will go and heal him.” • Mt 8:8 The centurion replied, “Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed. • Mt 8:9 For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and that one, ‘Come,’ and he comes. I say to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.” • Mt 8:10 When Jesus heard this, he was astonished and said to those following him, “I tell you the truth, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith. • Mt 9:4 Knowing their thoughts, Jesus said, “Why do you entertain evil thoughts in your hearts? • Mt 9:5 Which is easier: to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’? • Mt 9:6 But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins. . . .” Then he said to the paralytic, “Get up, take your mat and go home.” • Mt 9:7 And the man got up and went home. • Mt 9:8 When the crowd saw this, they were filled with awe; and they praised God, who had given such authority to men. • Mt 10:1 He called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority to drive out evil spirits and to heal every disease and sickness. • Mt 10:2 These are the names of the twelve apostles: first, Simon (who is called Peter) and his brother Andrew; James son of Zebedee, and his brother John; • Mt 10:3 Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus; • Mt 10:4 Simon the Zealot and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him • Mk 1:23 Just then a man in their synagogue who was possessed by an evil spirit cried out, • Mk 1:24 “What do you want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are—the Holy One of God!” • Mk 1:25 “Be quiet!” said Jesus sternly. “Come out of him!” • Mk 1:26 The evil spirit shook the man violently and came out of him with a shriek. • Mk 1:27 The people were all so amazed that they asked each other, “What is this? A new teaching—and with authority! He even gives orders to evil spirits and they obey him.” • Mk 1:28 News about him spread quickly over the whole region of Galilee. • Jn 11:11 After he had said this, he went on to tell them, “Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep; but I am going there to wake him up.” • Jn 11:12 His disciples replied, “Lord, if he sleeps, he will get better.” • Jn 11:13 Jesus had been speaking of his death, but his disciples thought he meant natural sleep. • Jn 11:14 So then he told them plainly, “Lazarus is dead, • Jn 11:15 and for your sake I am glad I was not there, so that you may believe. But let us go to him.” • Jn 11:39 “Take away the stone,” he said. “But, Lord,” said Martha, the sister of the dead man, “by this time there is a bad odour, for he has been there four days.” • Jn 11:40 Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believed, you would see the glory of God?” • Jn 11:41 So they took away the stone. Then Jesus looked up and said, “Father, I thank you that you have heard me. • Jn 11:42 I knew that you always hear me, but I said this for the benefit of the people standing here, that they may believe that you sent me.” • Jn 11:43 When he had said this, Jesus called in a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!” • Jn 11:44 The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen, and a cloth around his face. Jesus said to them, “Take off the grave clothes and let him go.” • Mt 8:24 Without warning, a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. • Mt 8:25 The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!” • Mt 8:26 He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm. • Mt 8:27 The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!” • Jn 5:25 I tell you the truth, a time is coming and has now come when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear will live. • Jn 5:26 For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son to have life in himself. • Jn 5:27 And he has given him authority to judge because he is the Son of Man. • Jn 5:28 “Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice • Jn 5:29 and come out—those who have done good will rise to live, and those who have done evil will rise to be condemned. • Jn 5:30 By myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me. • Jn 5:28 “Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice • Jn 5:29 and come out—those who have done good will rise to live, and those who have done evil will rise to be condemned. • Jn 5:30 By myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me. • Mt 21:23 Jesus entered the temple courts, and, while he was teaching, the chief priests and the elders of the people came to him. “By what authority are you doing these things?” they asked. “And who gave you this authority?” • Mt 21:24 Jesus replied, “I will also ask you one question. If you answer me, I will tell you by what authority I am doing these things • Mt 21:25 John’s baptism—where did it come from? Was it from heaven, or from men?” They discussed it among themselves and said, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will ask, ‘Then why didn’t you believe him?’ • Mt 21:26 But if we say, ‘From men’—we are afraid of the people, for they all hold that John was a prophet.” • Mt 21:27 So they answered Jesus, “We don’t know.” Then he said, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I am doing these things. • Mk 10:41 When the ten heard about this, they became indignant with James and John. • Mk 10:42 Jesus called them together and said, “You know that those who are regarded as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. • Mk 10:43 Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, • Mk 10:44 and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. • Mk 10:45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” • Lk 4:5 The devil led him up to a high place and showed him in an instant all the kingdoms of the world. • Lk 4:6 And he said to him, “I will give you all their authority and splendour, for it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to. • Lk 4:7 So if you worship me, it will all be yours.” • Lk 4:8 Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve him only.’’” • Jn 17:1 After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed: • “Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you. • Jn 17:2 For you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him. • Jn 17:3 Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. • Jn 17:4 I have brought you glory on earth by completing the work you gave me to do • Mt 28:18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. • Mt 28:19 Therefore (1) go and make disciples of all nations, (2) baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, • Mt 28:20 (3) and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” • To God be the Glory!! • Amen!!
