All ECOEE alums and current outdoor students are invited to participate in a unique study looking at professional outdoor leader career development. The survey consists of 45 questions related to perceptions of one’s career path. It will take 10-15 minutes to complete. The research goal is to develop a career assessment instrument to promote professional growth among professional outdoor leaders. As a result, students in outdoor related degree programs will have access to a tool designed to foster career success. Also, practitioners will have a mechanism to guide their professional development. For the purpose of this study, outdoor leader is defined as: any individual who leads groups into natural settings via a variety of modes of transportation such as but not limited to: walking, biking, canoeing, caving, kayaking, challenge courses programming, and mountaineering for a variety of purposes and outcomes.
