All I do these days is rant about Pride... Whats done is done now however PRIDE 2015 should have a complete overhaul so this is what I propose. 1. Scrap the Pride Committee 2. Have a new committee run by Paul German, myself, Viv, Cilla, Tiara, Jay Nolan, Eileen from the Lisbon and various other people with key job roles on the gay scene. 3. Have a big Stanley Street based party with a carnival atmosphere. 4. Scrap all the red tape of committee diversity constitution what not. For those who want to be on one of them style committees... run homotopia instead that is a more suitable project aimed at education and culture for LGBT. 5. Get every bar involved!!! Make each bar do a themed night on pride e.g. Foam Party, Special Guest etc. (How cool a night be if Navy had a foam party, boudoir had DWV performing, pink had fun and games night and GBar had their street party. People would go to every place and theyd probably come back. 6. Every aspect of pride should be provided by the LGBT people if possible, right down to the security which Stephen Houghland offered to run this year. 7. The Stanley St stage acts are ok this year keep that pretty much the same but get a relevant person to today as the main host/act. Rather than Sonia why not have a RuPaul drag queen? 8. Get Lee Edward on board. He provided people with the big gay night out and it was a roaring success. Have him host the afterparty get him to put coaches on for the pride... bring the people to us!!! 9. Have the afterparty in Garlands!! Keep pride in the festival area, make use of our glorious venues. 10. Charge £10 for entry to the the event to keep the riff raff out but with scene staff having free entry and each bar having a limited guestlist for their regulars who put into the community. However offer packages that entise people. E.g £60 gets you travel on Lee Edwards coach from your area, entry into pride, entry into the after party, a night in one of the hotels round the area and a free meal in the Lisbon. Its doable if you put your mind to it.
