All I was worried about yesterday morning was finding my tennis - TopicsExpress

All I was worried about yesterday morning was finding my tennis shoes for family day at Boeing. Just like any other day I woke up, fed the dogs and put them outside, ate, and layed down to count babies movements. He usually moves allot in the A.M. and then I get busy and dont feel him much till I settle down to go to bed. I counted about a 1/4 of the movements as usual and for lack of better words they were just different. I thought back to the night before and the movements were different and less as well. I called the doctor and she said not to rush or worry but to go into the hospital for a couple test just to be on the safe side. I was there for 2 hours testing, when my doctor came in from home and told me I was to be transferred to a special hospital by ambulance for more testing...bawling I got into the ambulance and my doctor reassured me it was just to be safe and for more testing. When I got to that hospital there was a room waiting for me fully equipped with about 6 doctors who all introduced themselves and what the specialized in (offically freaking out) thank god my mom was there the whole time (never too old to need your mom Tanya) after hearing about whats going on, most of them left because baby was moving a little more and they said they were just going to watch me for a while. We had good results and we might be going home soon. The very last follow-up test was going on (I was so excited to be going home soon to see Jordan, Benjamin, & Ella who came down to visit from WA) when the doctor looks at me and says it looks like Im going to be having a baby within the next 7 minutes! WTF! Im not due for TWO more months! Baby was born at 1:55am and I got out of surgery about about 3:30. When they asked me what his name was I quickly replied Mash Potatoes & Gravy (they said I could name him after the morphine had worn off lol). I finally got to hold him around 4am and it was most definitely the greatest moment of my life! We have had a wild ride with quitting all my jobs up north and moving to Portland without saying goodbye to my friends & co-workers; seeing about a billion different doctors and being on and off bed rest, moving back in with my parents at 27 to be a strong single mama myself. This lil guy has given me a run for my money, still this has been the single best thing that has ever happened to me and I seriously doubt I could ever be happier than I am right now! He was put on minimal help for breathing so that he doesnt have to burn calories because he is so little. However, after less than 24 hours the doctor are already weaning him off the help and just going to monitor him closely. He could not be doing any better , I love him so much! They told me if I hadnt come in that day he would most likely not have made it, the cord had just all the sudden stopped feeding him properly. Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers, I am truly blessed and planning on being the best mommy ever ;) Thank you to everyone who drove from so far away just to check on us Roger, Daniel, Curt, & Caroline. I know the rest of you will be able to meet him soon and I have told him about all of you :) Baby Boy Jones was born at 1:55 am on August 16 he is 16 inches long and weighed 2lbs 13oz. He dosent quite have a name just yet but here are some pictures the family took...
