All Is Lost was excellent. ROBERT REDFORÐ carried the movie as the sole character and with only a handful of lines of dialogue. A true story of man vs. nature expertly filmed and cut and scored. It marks the second straight stellar film for director JC Chandor (Margin Call), which hopefully means we are seeing the beginnings of another great director and filmmaker. Highly recommended movie. jackass presents: Bad Grandpa was disappointing. While there were some funny spots, a lot of the humor behind that crews particular brand of comedy is reliant upon spontaneous audience reaction, both on-screen and off. Most of the gags in the minute were recycled from the “old people sketches that featured in the show and the original trilogy. Every joke was telegraphed and even the reactions of the people in the scene werent that funny; it felt like most knew something was going on and had been waiting for the punchline. Also, the movies attempts to mix that brand of humor with sentimentality didnt really work. Johnny Knoxville is not a terrible actor and he and the kid had some good on-screen comedic chemistry but it never quite lived up to its own lofty pedigree. See it if youre a big fan bit otherwise dont make a special point of it.
