All Major Areas will Have Fibre Optic Broad Band Internet Facilities by 2015 Towards that end Universal Servies Fund will award contract to Mobilik and the contract work is expected to be started by mid October 2014 after which it will take 16 months to completed with an anticipated compltion date of Dec 2015. USF is expected to issue a contract to Mobilink for laying of Fibre Optic in new areas that will have fibre optic by end of 2015 including Garam Chashma, Kosht, Warijun, Shagram, Reshun to Booni and Upto Mastuj. This facility will make SMART TV services available all major areas mentioned from Drosh in South tp Ayun, the Larger Chitral and Booni and Garamchasma areas. SMART TV alone will have over 150 TV Channels. After finishing of Fibre Optic all three services i.e. Broadband, Telecenters and Mobile Services will be available in all major areas mentioned. The NHA has agreed to allow USF pass the Fibre Optic through Lawari Tunnel and this will help Chitral enter the Information Age in a big way Inshallah. After start of work the project is expected to be completed in four phases by end of 2015. It needs to be noted that once a Telecenter is opened it can provide many services ie. NADRA services, Computer Center, IT Classes etc and even a specialist doctor sitting in Karachi or abroad can particpiate in guiding local doctors in conducting an operation using the modern technology.
