All Sin! Colossians 2:18 You were dead because of your sins,that is, because of your "foreskin," your old nature. But God made you alive along with the Messiah by forgiving you all your sins. Colossians 2:18 (CJB) 1. You were dead 2. You had a old nature 3. God made you alive through Jesus, not you! 4. God through Jesus forgave you of ALL your sins. Not some of them or up till the next time you sin again, (ALL in Greek: all, any, every, the whole: - all) of them! Your old man is dead! Let him RIP! You are a new creation in the spirit now. "For he that is dead is freed from sin." The word sin is a noun (person, place, or thing), not a verb. The Greek word HAMARTIA is a noun, while HAMARTANO is a verb. A noun denotes a person, place, or thing, while a verb describes the action of a noun. Therefore, in all but one instance in the book of Romans, the words “sin” and “sins” describe man’s tendency toward sin and not the individual acts of sins themselves. If you think of the word “sin” in these chapters as denoting the act of sin, you will miss what Paul was saying.
