All You Have Is All You Need” . Friday, November 28th . Pastor Chris Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you (Hebrews 13:5 NIV). What our opening scripture is saying is that your lifestyle should be one that’s void of covetousness; dont lust after what belongs to others. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t dream or desire to attain greater levels of success; rather, it emphasizes being content with what you have, because what you have is enough to get whatever else you might need. All you have is all you need! When God asked Moses, “What is that in thine hand?” Moses replied, “…A rod” (Exodus 4:2). He could have tossed that rod from his left hand to the right and say, “Nothing!” but he was smarter than that! He knew he had something in his hand that God could use; so he answered correctly. That rod was all Moses needed to accomplish God’s purposes at the time. With the rod, he performed miracles and brought the children of Israel out of Egypt. In the New Testament, Jesus asked His disciples a similar question. He taught a large crowd, about five thousand men (women and the children not counted). Some of the disciples then requested that He should send the multitude away so they could buy food for themselves, having been with Him in the desert for long. However, the Master declined and rather asked the disciples, “What do you have?” “Theres a little boy who has five loaves of bread and two fishes,” they answered. The Master knew that all they had was all that was needed. He then took the little boy’s lunch, blessed it, and gave them back to His disciples to share to the people. Jesus didn’t put them down to multiply for everybody to see; no! He gave the same five loaves of bread and two fishes back to the disciples. Trusting and having faith that something had happened, the disciples, with boldness, started distributing the bread and fish to the multitude. The more they distributed, the more they had to distribute. When they were through, not only had everyone been fed, they had twelve extra baskets full of miracle bread and fish (Luke 9:11-17). In your life, never think, “If I only had this or that, my life would be wonderful.” No. What you have is all you need, and you have Christ. Christ is everything. He’s all you need to produce whatever else you think you might require. PRAYER Dear Father, I thank you, for every good and perfect gift is from you; and by your Holy Spirit, my spiritual eyes are continually opened to recognize those resources, gifts and talents youve placed at my disposal, so I could be a solution provider, both in my life and in the life of God’s people, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. Further Study: Exodus 4:2-3 And the Lord said unto him, What is that in thine hand? And he said, A rod. 3 And he said, Cast it on the ground. And he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from before it.; 2 Kings 4:2-7 And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil. 3 Then he said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbours, even empty vessels; borrow not a few. 4 And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and shalt pour out into all those vessels, and thou shalt set aside that which is full. 5 So she went from him, and shut the door upon her and upon her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured out. 6 And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed. 7 Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, Go, sell the oil, and pay thy debt, and live thou and thy children of the rest.; Matthew 14:15-21 And when it was evening, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past; send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves victuals. 16 But Jesus said unto them, They need not depart; give ye them to eat. 17 And they say unto him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes. 18 He said, Bring them hither to me. 19 And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude. 20 And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full. 21 And they that had eaten were about five thousand men, beside women and children.
