All about Asif Ali Zardari : my here “No matter how difficult and hard life gets, Asif manages to smile, making a victory sign, even when he crutches in pain.” –Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Asif Ali Zardari – My President, My Leader who has suffered the most, with the brave heart for giving us DEMOCRATIC PAKISTAN! Sacrificed each and every thing – his liberty, his livelihood, his family! He Stood against autocracy – tortured for eleven and half years in jail. Today he is known as the ‘Nelson Mandela’ of Pakistan. No words could do justice to describe his courage, his fearlessness. He married the queen of hearts Benazir Bhutto on 18th December 1987. “My mother picked him (Asif Ali Zardari). But I fell in love with him as if I had met him across a crowded room” -Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. He passed the test of Shaheed Bibi’s true love as her husband and proved to be Bibi’s BENAZIR HUSBAND. “I begged my husband to go and he said to me: “I cannot abandon my wife. I would rather die than abandon all of you.” -Shaheed Benazir Bhutto. He didn’t left Shaheed Bibi and was later imprisoned. He is known for his valiant nature! When in jail he was offered to resume premiership in place of his wife, but he denied! For him “WAZIR E AZAM BENAZIR” was not merely a slogan but a commitment. Shaheed Bibi rightly said about him, “This humility endears Asif to the PPP workers.” He has no comparison in gallantry. Jail was his second home. He faced all the false accusations with a lion-heart. He called and addressed Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto as his spiritual father and proved to be his political heir. Working on the ideology of Shaheed Bhutto and Shaheed Bibi, he strived to give people their rights, strived to give them ‘ROTI, KAPRA aur MAKAN’, sacrificing his family and his LIBERTY for giving his people a “DEMOCRATIC PAKISTAN”. Beyond, shadow of doubt he is “Benazir’s BENAZIR ASIF”. It was a horrific evening of 27th, December, 2007, when our leader Shaheed Rani was assassinated! Roits broke all over the country. Our GREEN flag turned to RED. Whole country was mourning. Slogans were chanted ‘Pakistan na khappay’ (we don’t want Pakistan) . At that time, Mr. Asif Ali Zardari, was the only man who raised the slogan of ‘Pakistan Khappay’ (we want Pakistan). He became the flag bearer of the party of Martyrs – Pakistan Peoples Party. And put his only son – Bilawal Bhutto Zardai forward. He didn’t let go Shaheed Benazir’s sacrifices in vain. He profoundly kept the wounded party together intact for 2008 elections and let the party vote. Once again Pakistan People’s Party stood victorious. Mr.Zardari, following, Shaheed Bibi’s reconciliation policy went for coalition government in all the provinces and in centre too, whereas he has the majority to form government all alone. It was happening for the first time in the history of Pakistan. Military dictator, through dialogue was sent home and with overwhelming majority, Mr. Asif Ali Zardari was chosen the president of Pakistan! In 2008, when President Asif Ali Zardari took office, there were critical challenges; Making democratic institutions stronger and more transparent – Stabilising the country’s economy – Creating a government of inclusion – Combating extremism and creating a culture of moderation. He fought all challenges stoutheartedly with his ‘ZARDARI SMILE’. In his tenure, Pakistan has achieved what it could not have in past 60+ years — the 18th Amendment, flight of undemocratic powers form the presidency, NFC Award – the devolution of powers to the provinces, political reforms in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA), Aghaz-e-Haqooq-e-Balochistan – Release of political workers and political dialogue with major stakeholders in the province, Successful military operations against militants in Swat and Malakand resulted in the restoration of peace, law and order, Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) – to dispense cash assistance directly and regularly to needy women and their families, Poor friendly schemes were started, Empowerment of women and rights to the minorities were granted through legislation, Education sector was given special attention – Lots of schools and universities were developed, Government made sure freedom of press and judiciary-to strengthen the democracy, friendly relationships with India an US to promote peace in region, Boosting up of exports-especially wheat, Forcing the world to believe in Pakistan’s sovereignty, Handing over Gawadar port to china, Pakistan-Iran gas pipe line project was inaugurated to meet the energy requirement,and many more… It’s only Mr. Zardari’s patience and wisdom that first time ever in the history government has completed its tenure. President Zardari is the symbol of tolerance! He patiently fought all evil mindset that wanted to topple the Democracy in Pakistan. He gently handled the situation when PPP’s elected Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gillani was sent home and new Prime Minister has to be appointed. Throughout these five years, propaganda was made against him! Be it writing letter to swis authorities or dual office case. He handled every thing brave heartedly and even temperdely. It’s only Shaheed Benazir Bhutto’s wisdom and President Zardari’s polices and patience that peaceful transition of power will take place first time in history of Pakistan! And pakistanis are sure that they are going to vote under civilian government. It’s impossible to count my PRESIDENT’s accomplishments. He achieved what others could have only wished for! He laid the policy of reconciliation, due to which there is no political prisoner in the country. He laid the foundation of peaceful Pakistan. He is the only one who rooted up the concept of political revenge. He is the symbol of tolerance. Forgetting the past conflicts, he respected the mandate of all political parties and went to shape broad-based coalition governments in provinces and the centre for the first time in country’s history. He has lost his every thing for the sake of this country’s better future. He stayed away from his childern in jail, faced all the physical and mental torture, to give better future to the children of Pakistan. Nobody can give him back, those eleven and half years of his life, which he spent in jail for giving us democratic Pakistan. Mr. President, Salutation to you for your heroic courage! and Thank you for loving each child of Pakistan like your own! This life is dedicated to you! I am sure there are many who are not gonna value your sacrifices and troll around but for me you are not a politician but institute of politics, you are a symbol of Tolerance and Patience. You changed our country forever and all of us owe so much to you. You are a legacy few will ever equal. Shaheed Bibi valued President Zardari’s sacrifices and said; “When the lights on the stage of life go out, those names shine brightly that were dedicated to the people, Gods agents in this world and its true masters. Asif’s name will be one of those shining stars while those of his tormentors will fade from history.” Like Bilawal, Bakhtawar and Aseefa this daughter promises to stand right next to you! You are the man who has given all for Pakistan! And Thank you for being GALLANT HERO of my country! This life is dedicated to you and Pakistan Peoples Party! Ek Zardari, Sab Pe Bhari! Agli Bari Phir Zardari! Long Live my country’s GALLANT HERO! Few nations are blessed with leaders like you!
