All cops are not bad cops or bad people *necessarily*. In fact, a number of them are probably working to feed their families, and some are even working to help the world. So no, ALL individual cops are probably not bad in the sense they are consciously out seeking to destroy people. But all cops DO work for a system that will stop at nothing to uphold and maintain white supremacy. Where are all the good cops speaking out on the policies that deliberately target minorites? Where are all the good cops that speak out on the unjust violence against minorities perpetuated by their friends? Where are all the good cops (that watch countless videos and/or read countless reports of unarmed minorites being MURDERED by their brotherhood) when it comes time to speak out for justice? Where all the good cops when they see their brothers change their stories and watch prosecutors prosecute the victim instead of the person pulling the trigger? Probably somewhere hiding behind their badges, that blue privilege. Yes, there are a few (very few) that speak up, but the vast majority do not. Did we not just watch all those officers in New York disrespect authority, the Mayor, for simply making a statement about the realities that minorities face living in this country? Did we see the controversy that erupted in Pittsburch because a police chief simply held a sign saying that he would address racism at work (as if it does not exist)? Good cops and good people do not sit silently, turning their backs, when they realize people are dying because of an abuse of power; when they realize minorities are dying because of the deep-rooted issues of racism that are entrenched in every part of Amerikan life and unchallenged in our society. And, unfortunately, most cops do [remain silent]. Most cops do fall in line to keep their jobs, to feed their families, to help their friends--and lets not deny that a number of them remain silent because they are just f***ing racist.
