All mainstream leaders ‘killers’ of Guru: Geelani Asks India: When NOTA, why not allow boycott? Srinagar, Nov 23: Chairman of Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Geelani Sunday held all mainstream leaders responsible for hanging of Afzal Guru as he reiterated call for complete election boycott. “We are hopeful that our people won’t cast their votes for killers and the people with tarnished image and character,” said Geelani said, according to a statement issued here. “I appeal people to disassociate from these shame election processes as the contestants are killers of Mohammad Afzal Guroo and they are responsible for assaults against our sisters and looted and torched our dwellings.” The octogenarian leader also called all contestants as “chameleons” questioning their silence when the Sopore native was taken to gallows. “then they maintained silence about Afzal Guroo and why do not they come with answer and explain the reasons behind this execution,” he said. “They won’t tell you the truth, because they know that people of Kashmir accept and tolerate the excesses perpetrated against them. Let them come forward and show their courage,” he said Referring to the verdict of Supreme Court of India, Syed Ali Geelani said that the ruling accords both right to franchise and boycott (NOTA). “But instead and contrary to this, we are being showered with pellets, killed and detained for none of our fault. For election boycott we appeal to our people and we hope they won’t lose their sprits and will demonstrate their steadfastness and commitment.”
