All of our adoption updates are very special to us, every last one. Nellies adoption story is one of those stories that we will never forget, its just that touching! Nellie is a 7 year old angel who was surrendered to a local shelter. As you can imagine, she was disoriented, terrified and depressed. One of our dependable, long time fosters, Melissa S., said she would take Miss Nellie in and get her up to par. As it turns out, she was actually getting a new family member! It was a match from the get go as Melissa updates us below: She fits in so well here and is a super happy playful girl. Here is a photo of her posing typical girly duck face with her new brothers who absolutely love her. She is constantly on my lap, even when I am busy painting my pet portrait commissions so I sometimes am cleaning paint out of her fur, lol! I never expected me to become a foster fail but there was something extra special about her and how my other boys just fell in love with her from the minute I brought her home from the vet, and they were never that way with any of our other fosters. I truly believe she was meant to find her way to us. Love this sweet baby girl!! Fosters are how we are able to do what we do; rescue those who are neglected, abandoned, lost, abused or simply not wanted. We are immensely appreciative of our fosters who take in those who are voiceless and do what they can in this capacity. They bring these animals to life - they love them, they train them, they socialize them, they help them overcome heartache and fear. Thank you Melissa, and all of those who foster - your time, effort, patience and love are so greatly appreciated!
