All of the posts and coverage on Robin Williams is making me so upset. Not just because its tragic that he took his own life...because its horribly tragic. Im upset and saddened by the fact that now youre seeing Suicide Hotline information and posts about depression, etc. It shouldnt take the tragic death of a celebrity for people to realize that depression and mental illness are real diseases and not some bullshit junk diagnosis and take it seriously. ive battled and struggled with it my entire life. It cripples you it takes everything from you. Yet you still have people who think you can just get over it. Its not that simple. To those who have never felt so hopeless that taking your own life seems easer than living...please dont judge or assume you know how that feels. He must have been in so much pain to make that choice. Ive seen so many comments about how he was selfish..weak. I wish more people understood how it feels to live with this horrible condition.
