All of you on here saying that smart cards for benefit claimants are a good idea need to give your head a shake! The whole idea is sinister. What does Ian Duncan Smith - a man who has known nothing but privilege, consider essential? Is pet food essential? Is money for the bus to attend a job interview essential? How about money to buy your children second hand clothes at a charity shop, is that essential? Sorry kids the ice cream van doesnt accept benefit cards!!! How about the hardworking person who through no fault of their own has become unemployed and would like to meet a friend for a coffee... Sorry thats not essential! FFS!!! I hope none of you lose your jobs and end up losing your dignity too because of some half baked politically motivated idea. Wake up and smell the coffee!
