All packed and ready to head to Toronto, Canada this weekend. Kid - TopicsExpress

All packed and ready to head to Toronto, Canada this weekend. Kid Chef Eliana is filming for YTV and working on a cooking show television pilot. So this is how I stay organized during travel. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the app Pack The Bag. I use it before I leave my house and before I leave the hotel to make sure nothing was forgotten. The app has pre-set items but you can also customize. Its great to make a master packing list for all the different kinds of trips we take. I pack my jewelry using straws for keeping necklaces detangled and buttons for keeping earrings together. I use the Eagle Creek Pack-It System for my clothes. My larger items go on a Pack-It Folder while socks, undergarments, and leggings and jammies go in a double-sided large cube. I cover shoes with shower caps to keep dirt at bay. Eliana also travels this way. I try to never check-in, always carry-on: 1 personal item that fits under the seat and a 21 suitcase overhead. My toiletries always stay packed. I just refill before each trip. Toiletries and meds go in my personal duffle bag. I LOVE Go Toob containers by HumanGear. They seldom leak and they have a suction cup to affix your toiletries to the shower wall. So cool! Theyre not cheap but worth it. I also re-use Bath & Body Works travel containers because they are so durable. I carry a red poly envelope with all our essential paperwork like tickets, itineraries, and confirmations. I keep it in the personal bag. The canvas bin you see is filled with all kinds of travel items I may need: suitcase scale, extra bags, travel pillows & eye masks, cordless curling iron, mini hair dryer, Fast Flats, mini lint roller, sun/surf gear, extra rain ponchos, microfiber hair wraps, etc. Items I always keep packed in the suitcase: phone charger (I also bring an extra one), flip flops, umbrella, foldable compact shopping bag, nail care kit, fan, sewing kit, emergency toothbrush, plastic grocery bags (in case of wet stuff), and a couple extra quart size zip bags. In the personal bag, I always keep packed: promo materials, foldable compact shopping bag (my favorite comes from The Strand Bookstore in NYC), tea, moist towelettes, lozenges, tissues, travel power strip with 4 outlets, a pashmina, a blow-up travel pillow, and an eye mask. I keep small bills handy for tips and getting water/snacks at the airport. So thats our organized travel. Maybe you can use some of these tips with your own travel adventures!
