All this uproar and disgust over football players committing domestic violence on their girlfriends/spouses and child abuse, while of course I in no means condone any of these actions, it bothers me that because of their stature in our society and who they are as celebrity because we put them in that category, everyone starts to speak about it, yet how many domestic violence calls and charges occur in our country every single day and it never makes front page news? Do people really believe with the number of football players we have that they are not human and dont commit the same crimes and have the same flaws and failings as every other human does? We all jump on the band wagon and judge and condemn so quickly when it is someone of celebrity status or famous as if they are different than all mankind and are to be perfect. I understand the outrage of what has been done or the cover up that is typically done for those of that status, but even that is done in all walks of life! I know plenty of times where a police officer is covered up, a high ranking soldier, a politician is covered up etc! What I dont get is why the media acts so shocked that one of these people could commit such crimes? Really? To be human is to err regardless of where you sit on the pedestal called life! God knew we would all sin so why do we act like it cant occur with famous people or celebrities? Maybe if we stop putting them on those pedestals we wouldnt cover these incidents in the media the way we do! Just some stuff that came to mind while watching the news! Have a blessed Sunday!
