All this while I have been trying to portray Allah as being gentle and kind and mild. It could be just the way I see him ! I could have just stated that Oh he is merciful only to the nice people, He just punishes the bad people. But when Allah says He is AL WADUD (THE MOST LOVING) there is no doubt in the fact that He loves us, and that He is worthy of our love. Wadud is love in the highest form of exaggeration. Allahs love is the purest form of love, it is the highest degree of love, it is the unconditional love we expect from people around us, but can not find ! No love, absolutely none what so ever, is unconditional. As parents we are loving and tolerant when we do not have headache, when we are rested and we have the patience to listen to the same questions again and again. Not with Allah ofcourse, as he is free of all our shortcomings. Allah loves us for no reason! He doesnt even love us because we pray to Him (SubhanAllah), He just loves us ! I wish I could teach my children how much Allah loves them, as I realized this far later in life myself. Not just children, I wish I could hold everybody around me and tell them Allah loves you, as love can not be taught, it must be realized.
