All those who requested a photo record of the Peregrine Falcon sighting, here it is. A distant photo of the subspecies Calidus with a Lesser Sand Plover kill. Its hard to believe but trust me when it flew over me to hunt the plover it felt like a missile zoomed passed me such was the sound of its wings. One has to actually experience it to know what it means to be the fastest member of the animal kingdom. According to Nat Geo the highest measured speed of a peregrine falcon is 389 km/h (242 mph).
