All was quiet standing with my daughter in a line of strangers - TopicsExpress

All was quiet standing with my daughter in a line of strangers today as we awaited our turn to be assisted. I noticed the elderly couple in front of us whom we did not know. Observing, as people often do, with each nod of her head one of her earrings was about to fall out. So, politely I told her this. After all I would want to be told. She said thank you as she remedied this. Just then her husband turned and said to me, pulling on his earlobes . . . “I hate to lose an earring! I just hate when that happens!” Trying to conceal one of those sh& eating grins on his face. I could tell he was my kind of trouble!! Never being one to hold back, my spontaneous response, with one of those sh& eating grins on my face. “Is that what happened to the ring she put in your nose?” His face lit up and he burst out a chucklesome laugh. Shaking his finger at me he said, “Youngling, you are bad. . .” Sometimes a good one liner in a crowd is just plain good medicine for the soul. I just can’t pass up a good craic!
