All went well for our sweet little Noah on Friday. Our staff was trying to get it to where Noah could just stay the night since he was already in inpatient and had to return to inpatient the next day for his blood transfusion, which after having a long day and 3 rounds of chemo would of been nice. But our insurance just didnt understand that whether Noah stayed the night or checked back in in the morning was going to end up costing the same, we were discharged around 9 Friday night. Luckily, Noah has been taking his treatments very well and has only been sick afterwards a few times but it does cause his little body to hurt, so driving back home and having to be strapped in is not enjoyable for him. Yesterday morning he didnt want to wake up or be moved. Most of which can be pointed to the frequencies of his spinal taps and bone marrow biopsies on top of all the treatments, but being so low on blood aided in along with lack of color and energy. Noahs Dr had pre ordered his blood the night before so we wouldnt have to wait as it already takes 4 hours for them to push the amount he needs. Tayler had to get some work done, so it was just the kids and I at the hospital. We got checked in to inpatient, so we thought, and we were taken to his room. His nurse had to leave to get a pole to hang his line and stated she would do his vitals when she got back. Thinking they were busy, as all the rooms were full, I hit the call button after an hour and was told someone would be in. So I called down to order him a lunch and got a call back stating no one was even checked in to our room and that they cant send up a tray until he is. So I hit the call nurse button again. Now I know some might think, why didnt you just walk out and find someone? Well, having a baby in my arms I couldnt carry Noah nor could I leave him in the room as he now thinks it is funny to try and jump over the railing on his bed. I did however wave down a Student nurse to ask her to send someone in but that never happened. About 3 hours after we got to the hospital and calling multiple times, a different nurse finally came in. His first nurse had completely forgotten about him, and he was no where in their system because of it. They finally got him squared away and the time we should of been getting discharged at 4, he was just starting his transfusion. Weve been seeing a lot of incompetence from the hospital lately and we are not too sure of what else to do besides letting his Drs know. He slept for a good part of the transfusion and woke up extremely hyper and ready play! So our student nurse came in and took him to walk around the ward while his transfusion finished up. We didnt get discharged til after 7, and despite our efforts to get him to bed at a decent hour, he just had too much energy and finally crashed around 1 this morning. gofundme/noahlindsey
