Allah (SWT) says in the Quran Do not forget your portion of the Dunya Imam Qurtubi says :that your portion of this dunya is ur Kuffan, that is the only thing ull take from this dunya, but everything else u leave behind, everything! ur cars, money, fancy scarfs & garments everything remains behind! What u go to the grave with is those 2 kuffans that is it! and this is the reality of the dunya, but we are often deceived by the dunya, one of the most beutiful example of the reality of the dunya is the example given by imam Gaazali-rahimhullah about the dunya. He speaks about a man whos walking through the jungle n while hes walking he looks behind n he sees a lion chasing him, he runs n he comes to a well nd jumps in 2 the well, while hes falling, he manage to hold on to some rope and he breath a sigh of relief, he looks up n sees d lion hovering over him, waiting 4 him n he looks down n beneath him is large serpent with his mouth open waiting for him to fall, n the only support he has is the rope, n after a little while he sees a black mouse and a white mouse set upon the rope n they begin to nibble it;and in front of him he sees this honeycomb n he look at this honeycomb n stick his finger in 2 the honey n he takes that honey upon his finger and he places it upon his tongue n the sweetness of the honey momentarily makes him forget the lion, the snake n even the 2mice. Imam Gaazali says:the lion is Death which is always chasing you,the serpent is your grave, into which every person will fall n if hes a good person, it will be a Garden from the paradise, if hes evil,it will be a pit from the pits of Jahannam n the rope is his life, the black mouse denotes night and the white mouse denotes the day, and they are always nibbling upon your life and the Honey is the Dunya, a man tastes the the sweetness of the dunya and he forgets death, he forgets the grave, he forgets a day will come that he will die and he will have to stand in front of his Creator! May Allah Guide us.
