Almighty, faithful God, ever-living and ever-loving. Lord we bring before You the needs of the world, trusting in Your faithfulness to us, despite our lack of faith in You. Lord we pray for those who will have no food today, who cannot feed their families or themselves, and we long for You to act. For those without hope, whose daily grind leaves them without happiness or any thought beyond survival, O God, we long for You to act. For those torn apart by broken relationships or grief, who have lost people they had once treasured; for Your church, dear God, in all its mix of hope and frustration, faith and faithfulness, sacrifice and apathy, fill us again with hope, and keep us faithful to You! Act NOW, Lord GOD, and bless by Your spirit! Visit us and perform Your good word towards us. Though be troubled on every side, suffer us not to be distressed; though we be perplexed, save us from despair. We ask it all, O God, in the name of Him, who for our sakes endured poverty and blameless suffering, Your Son, our Saviour, Jesus the Christ. Amen.
