Almost 10 years ago, I broke my wrist in a skiing accident and it - TopicsExpress

Almost 10 years ago, I broke my wrist in a skiing accident and it didnt show on an X-ray until 5 months later. Because of the delay in treatment, I had to have surgery to repair it & put in a screw to help it heal. Since that day, Ive had so many problems with my wrist, in constant pain & losing mobility of it daily. Last year I went into the doctors office afraid they would tell me its time to operate. I feared for what that would mean for my finances. That would mean time off from work that I could not afford. My hands were my life- as a photographer. I needed them to work & I could not imagine having surgery on them because if I wasnt physically working- then I wasnt bringing in any money to put food on the table for my family. Luckily last year I was able to get a cortisone shot to help the pain & wait to see what my wrist would do from that point. Well, I just left the doctors office and I was told that surgery is the next step. It was the most overwhelming feeling to be able to schedule the surgery without worrying about the time off of work, the money it will cost or that this could affect my career forever. Its a reminder that Im exactly where Im supposed to be.
