Almost 20 years ago I walked into AA and stayed Sober for Two and a half years -I was working as A Private Investigator for a large financial Institution and would fly to Durban from Joburg every wednesday ,I would stay at the same four seasons hotel and go to a AA meeting that evening ,all the staff at the hotel knew me and that I was in recovery -I would arrive and my cooldrink and newspaper would be at the table on the balcony of the hotel -that day the waiter who knew me well asked me what would I like -to this day I dont know why I answered bring me a Castle beer -that drink led me in 3 Days to lose my Job ,my wife ,my home and I left to cape town in my car with my clothes and returned to my parents -that Drink started a journey of Prisons ,Homelessness sleeping on the streets ,unemployment ,Gangsterism and so much pain for my parents and loved ones -many many years later on the 28 June 2005 I entered AA again -pride was one of the big reasons I did not enter the doors of AA earlier -looking back it was insanity to have taken the first Drink.............to be contd
