Almost 200 dead crows were found on the 401 highway between Toronto and Kingston. As there was concern they may have died from Avian Flu, the Provincial Government hired a pathologist to examine the remains of the crows. Much to everyones relief, the pathologist confirmed the problem was NOT Avian Flu. Instead, he determined that 98% of the crows had been killed by impact with trucks, and 2% were killed by car impact. To understand the disproportionate percentages or truck versus car kills, the Provincial Government hired an Ornithological Behaviorist. The Behaviorist determined the cause in short order: when crows eat road kill, they always set-up a look-out crow in a nearby tree to warn of impending danger. His conclusion was that the lookout crow could say Cah, but he could not say Truck.
