Almost a month ago Chad and I hit the road from Lincoln heading west. I gave my last dollar to a bum and went to catch a train westbound. It took us THREE DAYS to get a ride out of Lincoln! Last fall I made it to Tahoe in six days. We got to Kearney Nebraska, met a bunch of awesome people Will Tony and got sucked into staying for a week. From there Megan gave us a ride which was a fun adventure. We were in Cheyenne Wyoming for less than two hours and people were buying us drinks and offering us jobs (this has happened several times). Later that night we caught a train westbound and found ourselves in Pocatello Idaho 16 hours later. We met some awesome people, tried to leave a couple times but ended up sticking around for two weeks. We were generously housed up, went to a few concerts, hiked around, swam in hot springs and made some great new friends Jennifer Nico Camran and Cherese . This Sunday we caught a train and rode 30 hours straight to Portland. We met up with some people Id known all my life Heidi and Stephen. We ran around Portland all afternoon then met up with Amanda. Now were staying at a fantastic historic house where family friends Bud and Kevin host 80 or so weddings each year. To put it one way, it doesnt look like a place where two kids that just got off a train belong. Tomorrow is my birthday and I cant imagine how these travels could have gone any better! Im sure well see more familiar faces and make new friends in the weeks to come!
