Aloha, All! Thanks so much for all the Likes and the Get Well - TopicsExpress

Aloha, All! Thanks so much for all the Likes and the Get Well Soon! comments. The C.L.C. used to be known as the Old Soldiers Home. Looking around, I can see that I may be the youngest old soldier. Its more of an assisted-living facility with fewer chances of picking up some other germ like in the hospital. They take care of changing my IVs and the dressing on my lymph node. Ended up in a solo room with a view of a green area - little path to walk on, flowers, big ti plants with their red and green leaves and nothing but green in the background. Pretty serene. They encourage a home-type environment and I only brought a pair of baggy jeans with me last week. Got a friend (actually, my neighbor Robert who works in Honolulu) picked up a couple of pairs of shorts for me. They have a dining room that they prefer you go to instead of doing the hermit thing in your room. Probably venture out to that room tomorrow. You can have visitors pretty much anytime. You just have to enter via the ambulance entrance after 4 or 5, forget which. You can also go off-campus (LOL!) for lunch of whatever with a visitor. Lots of freedom. Activities and outings on a regular basis. Could be worse! Health-wise, the IVs seem to have already made a decent difference. My energy and strength have recovered somewhat - not feeling dragged out all the time. The seeping lymph node is definitely better, at least in terms of what its oozing. I understand the I should probably be on the IVs for at least a month and, possibly, two. Looking to get an oral antibiotic to replace the IVs but that wont happen for a month. So, overall, I seem to be improving. Oh, and they dont wake me to ask if I want a sleeping pill! LOL! Ill probably have access to this computer 2-3 times/week, so I can pass on periodic updates. Mahalo! again for the love! Jeff
