Aloha FC Ohana Member The cooperative will be placing an order with our new distributer Azure Standard this week. To order, go to azurestandard, click on sign in and type in email: moondancehawaii and password: Fcc96755. Orders can then be placed online with a $50 minimum any time before 3 pm Friday and paid for online with Azure Standard. Full Circle will collect a 15% markup plus delivery fee upon pick up of orders by members, approximate delivery time of two weeks. Please note that all memberships will be pro-rated to when our actual first order is received in August, mahalo for your patience members. Why, you may ask, have we switched from UNFI to Azure Standard? Well a number of reasons… UNFI delivered weekly yes, but unfortunately at a premium shipping price, 20% for dry and frozen and 30% for chill goods, as they only utilize UPS Air for their shipments. Azure Standard allows us to seek a competitive bid for shipping which keeps our cost to a minimum as a cooperative. The small compromise is that we receive our shipment every two weeks by boat instead of weekly by plane. A second reason is price and ease of site use. If you have tried getting through UNFI site, like us, I am sure you have found it confusing. Azure Standard sells much of the same brands as UNFI at the same or more competitive pricing and is MUCH more user friendly to navigate their site. So, please contact me should you have any questions or issues with ordering. We will need to make a $550 minimum but I am confident we can do this with FC’s 20 standing members. Also members note, please start saving seeds and cuttings from your best producing food plants and review your home seed inventories as FC will be holding a seed exchange and high tea with a lecture by Michael Duponte of CTAHR on Korean Natural Farming to be held in August.
