Along with a small village that adorned our home, my mother - and later my sister - put together the nativity scene or nacimientos as it was said in our house. Memories of Christmas always include the nativity scene that was put together in our home before I was born and continues to this day at my sisters house. I have memories of my late mom making bunuelos (Mexican fritters). I remember my sister making them as well. Christmas was not just about the tree and the presents. The focus was on the nacimientos and placing the baby Jesus in the nativity on Christmas at midnight. Does anyone else have memories of this? Did anyone else do posadas?
