Along with looking at the danger, social and political aspects, I think I will do with my class a big maths project. We can do measurement (using maps, data), area, estimating cost and time for repair/maintenance etc. It is obviously a very real and relevant matter for these kids, and one I think they would really engage with. Also have a few ways to promote this project on the internet if they do it, so will be another way to spread the message wider. This will be during Term 2, after my class returns from 2 weeks in Melbourne (including the Indigenous round, Michael Long walk to the MCG etc). Will keep in touch about it.
