Along with taking on any work orders he is assigned, Ted Meyer took the time to research a new solid chemical to use at the TSF that would save time and money for years to come. The new solid chemical will allow us to stop the delivery of hazardous liquid chemical to the TSF. As Green Team project, a Solid Chemical Water Treatment System will replace the current system in use at the TSF. The system will reduce the potential for spills and eliminates the hazardous transfer of liquid Biocides and Corrosion Inhibitors. The chemical can be delivered by FedEx or UPS, eliminating red X personnel that currently delivers the liquid chemical to the TSF compound, making it saver for the techs and lessen the risk of a hazardous spill. Teddy has stepped forward not only to look out for the facility but his team mates as well. This project has been approved and implementation is planned for this year. Ted has also promoted the use of alternative lubricants providing samples for evaluation to the EPF Chemical Engineer. Some of these Greener alternatives show real promise and are being evaluated in service by the EPF RSEs as potential replacements for less effective or more hazardous lubricants currently in use. As is typical of Ted, if he sees somewhere he can help hes on it.
