Alpine Club of Pakistan (ACP) is undertaking Basic Mountaineering Course at Islamabad and Kaghan Valley as under:- Date of the course: 2 to 11 September 2013 Duration: 10 days Course Fee: Rs. 16,200/- per participant Last date of registration: 30th August 2013 (Registration will be made on deposit of fee at the ACP Secretariat office) Physical and mental fitness are pre conditions for the course. The course outline is as follows: Day 1 Islamabad Lectures/Introduction to mountaineering, climbing and camping Day 2 Islamabad Lectures/Issue of personal equipment. Basics of Rock Climbing Day 3 Islamabad to Naran, Night stay at local Hotel Day 4 Naran to Base Camp/Establish BC Day 5 At Base Camp Rock Climbing and Acclimatization Day 6 Base Camp Rock Climbing/Crevasse rescue and Acclimatization Day 7 Base Camp Move to higher camp/ Snow and Ice craft Day 8 Base Camp to Climb Siran peak Day 9 Rescue training Day 10 Base Camp to Naran/Islamabad Note: Course participants need to arrange their own stay at Islamabad, however, ACP may assist them in arranging accommodation at the Pakistan Sports Board Hostel upon prior request.
