Already--at 10:19 a.m., this has been the best birthday of my entire life. So many wonderful people wishing me birthday wishes have lifted my spirits--and I woke up to my mother singing Happy Birthday to me--which is a miracle in itself. For the first several weeks after moms stroke last December, I didnt even know if she knew who I was. Now I know for sure--by the laughter in her voice and the look on her face when she holds mine in her hand--she truly is a miracle. I thank God for the doctor who treated my mom--who advised us to have a Peg Tube inserted so that she could receive nutrition while she begins therapy. And I thank God for her current physician--who read the Jimmo vs. Sebelius case--and has kept the therapy going pursuant to federal law. We truly are living a wonderful life...
