Already Thursday night AGAIN By Eve Ilsen — 8 hours ago Ay ay ay, today was one of the days that got stuffed up with everything, from the very beginning: out of the house at 6:50 a.m. for Thursday morning minyan then a date to check out a warehouse sale then taking Zalmans big old Mitsubishi Montero for inspection and failing: told it needs a new gas cap, then come back then an appointment with my MD (a dear person) after which I popped down to the City Club in the basement of the wonderful old building, and was invited to join interesting people for lunch (real treat for mind and body) grateful bought the gas cap then emissions again (passed) then the physical therapist then home in time to feed the cats and bring Maria with me to a wonderful concert of Turkish Sufi music, poetry and beautiful slides, a feast for the senses and the spirit and now I have puffed to a halt at home at last. I dont think I can handle many more days like this; thank goodness I dont often have to. I find my self thinking things like: what do young mothers do when they lose their beloveds, G-d forbid? how do they survive? how do they nourish their children? how do they comfort them? what sustains them? And things like: our species is programmed to give and receive love; to seek, to cleave to, to devote; to open our soft hearts, to be unbearably vulnerable. That one of us will lose their beloved is almost inevitable; which means that intense suffering is built into the system. And knowing this, we love anyway. Investing ones heart and love in our beloved should point us toward The Beloved, yes? Its how G-d beckons us to come close. In little droplets, I know this to be true. I am hoping my own heart will open to receive a clearer and more abundant stream of that felt wisdom. I wish us all true dreams, and memory of them in the morning; good night. https://youtube/watch?v=6uLtyzRgmyI&index=15&list=RDCr_iNfxZl0I
