Alright, America... Its time to make some decisions. When people start getting slaughtered en-mass in some brutal genocide in a far-flung corner of the globe, and start begging America to come in and save them, do you want to be able to save them, or tell them to fend for themselves? Right now, the U.S. Marine Corps has 28 Infantry Battalions (27 regular grunt rifle units + a roughly Battalion-size element of Special Operations-dedicated infantry commandos called MARSOC). For those of who dont know, that means we have roughly 28,000 commandos in a forward-deployable Naval Service whos sole purposes in life is to carry a rifle or machine gun & enforce the will of the people of the United States & the world, including stomp out genocide. (The other 167,000 Marines are there to make sure these 28,000 men, like me, can do our job. Thats roughly 8 enablers for every 1 commando.) To put this into perspective, Britains Naval Service has roughly 3 battalions (3,000 commandos) who share the same purpose as our Marine Corps, & Australia is still working on standing up one single Infantry battalion of Naval/Maritime commandos like our Marine Corps. Theres a reason everyone calls on America to save them.... We actually have the resources to do it! Right now, theyre talking about reducing the force from 28 Infantry Battalions to 22. Without getting too technical, or getting into any classified information, that basically means that America becomes the Detroit Police Department.... We go from being a reliable, ready, 911 SWAT Team for the world, to adopting a policy of most calls-for-service will go unanswered. The decision is yours America.
