Alright. Harrell Broome. Im gonna tag you in this one. Only because youll understand my point. On Saturday the wife was out of town and I found myself a little bored. I had a few thousand Abraham Lincoln pennies Id stashed away. With the reduced price of gasoline. It was a no brainer. Time to drive that 55 highway. Not to the land of the Delta blues but to good ol New Orleans. Never know what youll see down on that south side of highway 90. Now for most folks that take that 55 highway. Bourbon Street is their goal. Marigny St. was mine. Just off of Esplanade. Not so much the bright lights of Bourbon St. Just a dude playing a Bass in a street corner band. He turned my ear and caught my eye. As I tossed a few dollars into his street side tip jar. I looked up and took pause. Ill be dammed. He had an old gas tank from a truck strung up. A drive shaft for a neck. Wire brake lines salvaged. No bridge. Just a hole he punched out in the center of that salvaged tank. Playin for tips. The next dang ol Tee Tot. The best music comes from those that simply grab a jug or anything they can find to tap. And try to keep up. And hope they can tag along.
