Alright, I just saw some inside looks at the upcoming Americanized version of Oldboy. This is easy one of my favorite story lines of all time (the original), therefore I am skeptical as to how they plan to make it their own. The movies director Spike Lee claims to have altered some aspects of the story line, saying that original gave them the ground work needed to tie in his own altered story line. Who the hell does he think he is ?! Yes I am going to spend the money to see it, thats obvious. I just feel somethings should be left alone by the American movie industry... Specially something as elegant as Park Chan-wooks original version. The version he wrote, directed, AND starred in. To me that sounds like something that should be preserved and admired. Not remade and most likely desensitized for the viewer from its true original grittiness and beauty. End rant.
