Alright, Im still swelled up!(proud) Nathan hasnt had a lot of chances but he got his shot yesterday to play one of the hardest positions on the baseball field, one that he has never got to play in a real 8u tournament especially against one of the hardest hitting teams in his area.(short stop)..Now Im comparing this to two summer seasons and thats all the baseball he has played, okay yes he made errors but things I seen in this multi talented athlete is the biggest Heart and the most courage I have ever seen out of any one player on these fields he has played on in two seasons ..what I mean is Nathan took a baseball shot into his chest once and you could hear it hit him on the bleachers he stayed with it and in my opinion still threw the runner out but the umps give it a safe, well the very next hitter ropes another and it comes up outta the dirt back into his chest again this time a slamming off of the bat and he stayed in front of the ball and picked it up and threw the runner out well the ump give it to the runner again now at this point most kids would have gotta outta the way after the first shot, but the very next shot (3rd) takes a bad bounce right into his chest thats three bad bounces into his chest all dead center same spot hard line hits and he picks the ball up and throws the runner out well the ump gives it to the runner. The ump standing behind home plate and Im standing right behind the third base couch on the field. Now his heart and courage came into play after the first shot to the chest. His coach Kenny Cheek wanted to check on him and thats where the tears come in he tried so hard to win for his team because they give him a chance..(at an infield position)well he didnt come off of the field! The very next play was the most awesome shortstop play I have seen , another line drive outta the dirt slinging himself outin front of the ball onto his knees with his glove out toward second base he grabs the ball and on his knees turns and throws the runner OUT at third and this time the one sided ump from Danville could give it to the Danville team to end the inning. That is my lil man (Nathan L. Moore) and HIS team the MERCER Co. TITANS. They finished the tournament with a second place but in my book they finished Champs all those fellows played hard and none of them ever give up and they may not be the most talented boys that live in Mercer County but they are all Mercer Countians .
