Alright, bad night in Kansas City. Royals win, 7-2. As the Shirelles taught me long ago, Mama said thered be days like this. Looks like we have ourselves a Series. I still like our chances, splitting the first two games on the road, and headed back for three games at home in San Francisco. Keep the faith. The problem tonight was one lousy inning, the 6th. Until then, it was 2-2, with Jake Peavy more than holding his own against the vaunted rookie, Yordano Ventura, the 100-mph fastballer. Eliminate the bottom of the 6th when the Royals scored 5 runs, and the game is still tied 2-2 in the 9th. The man who lost it was the rookie reliever, Hunter Strickland, who I confess Im rapidly losing confidence in. He got that one big out in the critical, epic 18-inning Giants playoff wins over the Nats (the game that broke them). But since then hes given up 5 home runs in the playoffs. And tonight he gave up 4 runs in the 6th on a double and a home run. Ouch. Lost the game. Plus, he has a bad attitude. Lost his temper and nearly started a dust-up with the Royals. I dont want to see this guy for a while. On the positive side, the game started right -- a Gregor Blanco leadoff homer. And the Giants kept hitting. Everyone hit. But the hits were too spaced out. Only Blanco and Belt had RBIs. Room for improvement there. So, lets get this back on track, starting Friday. Meanwhile, enjoy the Shirelles. https://youtube/watch?v=WQlImg2bm28
