Alright family this is what I found. It has been stated that The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad DID NOT say that a man should marry a woman that was half his age plus 7. However, in Chapter 13 of the Autobiography of Malcolm X this is what Min. Malcolm quoted- Mr. Elijah Muhammad taught us that a tall man married to a too-short woman, or vice-versa, they looked odd, not matched. And he taught that a wifes ideal age was half the mans age, plus seven. He taught that women are physiologically ahead of men. Mr. Muhammad taught that no marriage could succeed where the woman did not look up with respect to the man. And that the man had to have something above and beyond the wife in order for her to be able to look to him for psychological security. END- QUOTE- Now, I am so sure that it is a possibility that the Messenger may have said that in an one on one conversation with Min. Malcolm and may not have necessarily wrote it in a book or curriculum. Regardless of the reason of the Exodus of Min. Malcolm from the Nation of Islam I believe that it is highly unlikely that this would be a matter to exaggerate or lie about. Many people inside and outside of the Nation have read this book and have obtained a great deal of history from it. However ,what I was able to confirm that this saying did derive from the mind of Spike Lee for the purpose of making a movie. It was taken from the contents of Min. Malcolm Xs book.
